About the Book

Wind and Wing began during a period of burnout and profound change. When a path I had worked hard to build stopped feeling sustainable, I found myself reconsidering some surprisingly big questions: What does ambition mean when achievement is no longer enough? What parts of ourselves do we carry forward? What do we leave behind? And how do we know when it is time to choose another direction?

Those questions eventually became stories.

Across the pages, ravens, bullfrogs, bears, magpies, crabs, and other characters become companions in stories about work, relationships, belonging, ambition, courage, and starting again. Some are reflective, some are playful, and some find meaning in decidedly strange places.

Together, they trace a journey from uncertainty toward reclamation, and toward the freedom that comes with knowing yourself a little better.

Enter the world of Wind and Wing, where the powerful Heart of the Kingdom is surrounded by forests, shifting seas, forgotten riverbeds, and threshold lands. This opening story sets the stage for Raven's journey and the characters she will meet along the way.

When Bear finds Raven balancing on a tightrope, he asks a simple question. Their conversation becomes a conversation about ambition, proving yourself, knowing when growth has become an endless test, and remembering that sometimes moving forward means choosing to fly.

Glass Jar - Sometimes the hardest traps to see are the ones we create for one another.

Raven discovers a glass jar filled with crabs, each struggling toward the rim only to be pulled back by the others. A darker story about scarcity, competition, invisible walls, and the painful realization that not every system can be changed by the person who sees it clearly.

Since publishing Wind and Wing, I've found myself returning to its characters and imagery through visual art. Block printing, wood, mosaic, and other materials have given me a new way to explore the world of the book.
